KMart's Big Layaway Giveaway

This is a sponsored post, I am a Kmart Layaway blogger, though all opinions are my own.

I love to shop, and I have found some awesome deals at Kmart.  My absolute favorite is their toy clearance.  My mom lives a few minutes away from a Kmart, within walking distance actually, and she usually lets me know when they have their toys marked down.  I like to pick them up here and there throughout the year so that I'm ready for birthdays and holiday gifts.  I have scored some really great deals just by keeping an eye out.

I love that they offer free layaway.  I know some other stores offer layaway for the holidays (Walmart comes to mind right now), but I feel better about using Kmart's layaway, since they always offer it.  I know they know what they're doing, and I don't have to shop within a window that the store sets for me.  I can shop when I want.  It's great for larger items too.  If I'm browsing and happent o see some "big" that I would like for our home, I can always put it on layaway.  I considered a kitchen table and chairs earlier this year before I ended up purchasing used and refinishing it.  I wanted a round table, black, pedestal table, but our local Kmart didn't have one in stock.  My plan was to put it on layaway.  I think I may end up purchasing some patio furniture before next Summer rolls around, and that can be expensive, so layway is awesome for that too.  I know a lot of people who do their Christmas and holiday shopping early and put it all on layaway so by Christmas, they're done and it's a lot less stressful.

Right now, actually, it started on September 9th, you can even win your layaway for free with Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway!  Every week, through 11/17/12,  there is one layaway giveaway per store.  Way to kick off the season of giving, Kmart!  I might have to do some shopping this weekend...  :o)

Skintimate Shave Cream & Schick Hydro Silk - w/ Giveaway!

I have long been a fan of Skintimate shaving creams and Schick razors.  As a "crazy coupon lady" I stock up when there is a good sale in combination with a coupon, so I've tried many different shaving creams and brands of razors.  Skintimate ranks as my top shaving cream for the value, and how well it works.  Schick razors are right up there as well.  Schick strives to not only give you a good shave with their razors, but to make the shave smooth, and free of pain or irritation as well.  With their razors, shaving doesn't have to be a chore.  I shave nearly every single day, and it's easy for that to feel like an annoyance, just another daily chore to check off the list, and honestly, women have enough to do in the shower, shaving should be quick and easy.  With Schick, it is!

I was recently sent a Schick Hydro Silk so I could give you all my thoughts.  This is an awesome razor.  It has five blades, designed to sense your curves.  Curve Sensing Blades are individually supported blades that can move independently from each other to allow the razor to safely and effectively maneuver over knees and ankles. This not only gives you a close, smooth shave, but helps to eliminate little knicks in your skin from the blades.  I love being able to glide the Hydro Silk over my knees and ankles, without having to be super careful and worried about cutting myself.  I lovvve all of the advancements in razors over the years.  When I was a teen and started to shave, I started with my dad's old razors. Then I moved up to inexpensive single razors, and then double razors and thought those were amazing, but I still cut myself quite often.  Nowadays, razors are soooo luxurious compared to what I started out with (and I'm not ancient or anything, haha, I'm only 27!).  Anyways.  Shick Hydro Silk.  The five blades on this razor are surrounded by a smooth plastic that houses a moisturizing serum infused with marine extracts.  The serum is actived by the water you use to shave with, and helps the razor to glide effortlessly over your skin, keeping irritation to a minimum, or for me at least, non-existant.  I have no irritation at all with this razor.  Shaving can dry your skin out as well, so the added moisturization is great!  I also really like the soft touch handle.  It is textured to help you keep a good grip.  This is great for slippery, wet hands!  The razor I was sent included the razor, two sets of blades, and a suction cup holder (love that, it's such a space saver!).

To really amp up your shave, you definitely have to check out Skintimate's Lotionized Shave Creme.  They just got some new packaging, too!  There are three formulas to choose from so you can get exactly what your skin needs.

  • Frosted Velvet - Revitalizing.  A rich cream, infused with exfoliating pearls, verbena, olive butter, soy, and antioxidants white tea.  Leaves skin feeling revitalized, silk smooth, and noticeably softer.
  • Cashmere Rain - For dry skin.  Enriched with natural olive butter, soy and antioxidant white tea.  Skin feels noticeably softer, and luxuriously hydrated.
  • Soothing Petals - Extra gentle.  Blended with natrual olive butter, soy, antioxidant vitamin E, and aloe vera.  This cream shave provides sensitive skin with a cushion of moisture rich protection.

I recieved a sample of the Extra Gentle Soothing Petals (in the green bottle).  The bottle is cute, and I love the flower petal design.  I opens and closes easily, stands on it's own, and it's not a big deal if you lose the cap.  Plus, it's entirely plastic, which I like because sometimes those metal shaving cream cans end up leaving rust rings in the shower where they sit.

For an extra gentle formula, the fragrance is a little stronger than what I might normally expect.  This is fine for me, fragrances don't generally bother me and I like stonger scented products.  Don't get me wrong, it's not at all overpowering, but it is a lightly floral scent, that took me a little off guard for scents as I wasn't expecting much at all.  I like it, though!  One of my other favorite scents for Skintimate shave creams is the Baby Soft scent, and it reminds me a bit of that, a little like baby powder.

This isn't a foaming shave cream, which takes some getting used to.  It's like a thick lotion.  You don't need nearly as much (I use about a dime sized blob for each leg, and I shave my entire leg), just a small amount will spread out to envelop your legs in a moisturizing film, that allows the razor to glide effortlessly over the skin.  It's fantastic in combination with the SchickHydro Silk's five blades and water activated moisturizing serum.  All of that moisture is heavenly for the months of dry air we'll have with Winter on it's way.  Take that, dry skin!  I've got Skintimate's Moisturizing Shave Cream on my side this year!  I find this lasts longer than foaming shave creams as well, so it makes for a great deal when you find it on sale!

Do You Use Flameless Candles?

Flameless candles were one of the first things I reviewed here at Flip Flop Reviews. Since trying them out, I have brought them in as part of my decor in many rooms of my home. Not only are they beautiful, but as demand for them grows, so do the options. I am able to find scented flameless candles, unscented, any color I could possibly want, flickering models,
flameless candles with timer, candles that look as if they've already been burned a little so they don't look quite so stark, votives, tea lights, the options are seemingly endless! I absolutely love incorporating battery operated lights into my decor.

As a mom of two young children, and two fur-babies, I feel more secure using flameless candles in my home. I can keep them on an end table or in a grouping on my kitchen table, or even in my children's rooms without worry that they may be knocked over and start a fire or that my children or pets will hurt themselves with the flames. I do still keep and enjoy a few regular wax candles in my home, but I keep them all up high enough that they are not a worry, and only light them every once in awhile. I have flameless candles set on timers in my children's rooms to use as nightlights, in my own bedroom and master bathroom for ambiance, and in my kitchen to give off a soft glow. I love that I can turn these on, and if I happen to fall asleep, no worries! Most of them are on timers and will turn off by themselves anyway, and the rest, the worst that happens is the batteries die. Luckily I use rechargeable batteries on the majority!

Do you use flameless candles in your home? Any favorites you'd like to recommend?

Fiber One Chocolate Chip Brownies - GIVEAWAY!

Dreaming of a brownie that will satisfy your sweet tooth craving to help you stay on track? New Chocolate Chip Cookie flavor Fiber One® 90 Calorie Brownies, combine your favorite dessert flavors: chocolate chip cookie AND brownie! When you’ve got brownies on the brain, but don’t want to over-indulge, this moist and chewy chocolate chip cookie brownie is the perfectly portioned 90-calorie snack.

I love sweets.  Oh, who am I kidding.  I just love snacks, in general.  Sweet, salty, it's all good.  Unfortunately not so much for my body though.  I love that these sweet treats are only 90 calories and packed with fiber to fill me up.  Each serving provides 20 percent of the Daily Value of fiber recommended (5g).  I can have one, and not feel the need to immediately reach for another.  They are delicious too!  I was sent the new Chocolate Chip Cookie flavor to taste test, and it's is fantastic.  In fact, while I love Fiber One cereals I had not yet tried the brownies at all.  After trying this new flavor, I picked up a box of the chocolate brownies (I did a deal at CVS!), and they are amazing as well!  My kids even like them.  They fought over the last chocolate brownie in the box before cheerleading practice the other day.

The new Chocolate Chip Cookie flavor features semisweet chocolate chips in a cookie-batter brownie topped with a dark chocolaty flavored drizzle.

Sounds good, huh?

Plus, there is only 3g of total fat per brownie.  Go ahead, "indulge!"

Perhaps you'd like a chance to win a Fiber One Prize Pack, so you can sample these delicious chocolate chip morsels yourself?

Betty Crocker Cereal Muffins! - GIVEAWAY

Not too long ago I was grocery shopping when I saw some new muffin mixes on the shelves of the bakery aisle.  My first thought was "What colorful boxes," and my second, after I did a double take was "Ohhhh my goodness!  REESE'S PUFF MUFFINS!"

Yep.  I'm a Reese's kinda gal, what can I say?

When My Blog Spark offered me the opportunity to taste test the new Betty Crocker cereal muffin mixes, I was all over it.  Betty Crocker now offers muffin mixes inspired by three great General Mills cereal flavors.  Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Reese's Puffs.  Great for dessert, or perfect for breakfast with some fruit!

My children were SO excited to try these.  My oldest daughter is a Reese's Puffs fan, and both of my girls love Cinnamon Toast Crunch.  It's a family favorite here, and I'm pleased to report that the muffins will be now, as well!

I made each variety of these for a get together where I sat out finger foods for our guests, and got thumbs up all around.

Be sure to visit http://bit.ly/CMcoupon to download a printable coupon for $.80 off one package of any variety of Cereal Muffin Mix.

I'm excited to give you the opportunity to recieve a Prize Pack filled with the same Betty Crocker goodness that I was given!
