EdenFantasys Highlight

I just wanted to take a second to say that the customer service at EdenFantasys is awesome.

Sex toys - EdenFantasys adult toys storeI had a gift card, so I placed an order for a Kama Sutra gift box.  The box included a small bottle of massage oil.  Unfortunately when the box arrived, I found that the oil had managed to open enough during shipping to leak out of the bottle.  The entire set was covered in oil, and there was barely a drop left in the bottle.  I was able to clean everything off, but I contacted them asking if there was a way to get a replacement for the oil or to make an exchange.  The item happened to be out of stock/discontinued, and I had ordered with a promotional code that would have been subtracted from my order if I'd simply returned the kit.

EdenFantasys was quick to make the order right for me, by offering to send me a similarly priced item as a replacement for the Kama Sutra set.  Even though I was fully expecting to, I didn't even have to go through the process of sending the other kit back.  As it was discontinued they simply said not to worry about it, and shipped my new selection out via next day air.

Shunga's Tenderness and Passion Collection.
Smells like Strawberries and Champagne!
I was very pleased that they made every effort to make sure I was happy with my order, and it makes me all the more likely to shop there again.

*I will be provided a gift card for writing this post, however my experiences with EdenFantasys are true, and I am free to write whatever I please.

Home-Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living

I have been a fan of Home Ec 101 for years.  Home-Ec 101 is a site dedicated to teaching a broad range of life skills to adults in a conversational and entertaining manner.  While I learned nearly everything I could ever need or want to know about keeping house from my own mother and grandmother, I still found it helpful to read Home Ec 101 and I have learned many tips and tricks from Heather and Ivy that I might never have known about before.  When I read regularly, I also find that it helps to keep me just a little more organized.  I find motivation there.  I *wish* I was a true modern retro housewife.  I strive to be close to that someday.  That's what originally appealed to me about Home Ec 101, the simple retro graphics on the page, they drew me in and the content kept me there.  Aside from being about to find anything and everything you ever wanted to know about about the domestic arts, I appreciate the light-hearted humor found there.

When I received the opportunity to possibly review Heather Solo's new book, Home-Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living through the One2One Network, I jumped on it.  Unfortunately I did not get selected to review the entire book, but they were kind enough to give me a sneak peek!

Home-Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living - Cook it, Clean it, Fix it, Wash it

I was able to read through chapter 20, which is titled "Meal Planning: Not Just for the Control Freaks."  They must be a little bit psychic over at One2One Network when they decided to send me that particular chapter, because oh boy, is that ever something I struggle with.  The chapter starts out talking about the 5:30 stare.  Yeah.  I know you know what I'm talking about.  When you realize it's 5:30 and you poke around in your kitchen opening cabinets and the fridge and/or freezer and just hoping that something jumps out at you and you're able to pull a full meal together in as little time as possible.  In my case, I usually have two little ones right behind me asking me what's for dinner and if they can have a snack (and the dog is usually right behind them, because hey, food!).

This chapter of Home-Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living covers everything you might possibly need to know about forming the habit of meal planning.   It's informative, packed with tips and tricks, suggestions, recipes, as well as simple, down to earth ideas for weekly menus, and of course, the wit and humor that made me a fan of Home-Ec 101 in the first place.  I *love* that Heather writes like she is speaking directly to you.  She is in your kitchen, chatting you up and offering you guidance with this chapter, and I imagine the rest of the book is the same. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

The perfect manual for college grads, newlyweds, all the way to the more seasoned homemakers, this book has something to offer everyone.  From the simplest how to's (ever meet a 20 year old who can't pre-heat an oven?) to how to be a fabulous host at your housewarming party, Heather offers practical, relevant advice for all ages.

*I was provided with a digital copy of Chapter Twenty of Home-Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living.  I received no other compensation, however I may be entered to win prizes from the One2One Network for posting this review.

Yanni - Truth of Touch - Album Review and Giveaway!

Truth of Touch is Yanni's first instrumental release of original compositions, in over eight years.  This new album marks his return to the genre that Yanni actually helped to create and advance.

“I work the rhythms in this album,” explains Yanni about the new material.

“There is a beautiful complexity in these rhythms, a new sound design. I think the melodic content is very strong and very memorable. I was having fun with this album and that’s going to become apparent.”

Truth of Touch was released on 2/8/2011, and includes the following tracks:

  • 02. Echo of a Dream
  • 03. Seasons
  • 04. Voyage
  • 05. Flash of Color
  • 06. Vertigo
  • 07. Nine
  • 08. Can't Wait
  • 09. Guilty Pleasure
  • 10. O Luce Che Brilla Nell'Oscurita
  • 11. I'm So
  • 12. Long Way Home
  • 13. Yanni & Arturo
  • 14. Mist of a Kiss
  • 15. Secret
I received a copy of this album in MP3 format to enjoy, and enjoy I did.  I have always loved instrumental music.  I will admit I am not very familiar with Yanni, but I'm happy to have been properly introduced to his music through this new album and I look forward to finding some of his earlier music.  While Truth of Touch is certainly more electrical than orchestral, I found this album to be very refreshing.  The music is relaxing, and yet also has an upbeat and energetic vibe to it.  If I have a moment to close my eyes, each track has the ability to take me on a journey...an adventure... to somewhere new, with flawless transition.  I think my favorite on the album might be Voyage, though there really isn't a track that I *don't* like (though I think my least favorite is "I'm So").  Truth of Touch is mainly instrumental, but there are a few tracks with lyrics.  Can't Wait, is one and it is beautiful.  I normally would not appreciate a random song with lyrics in the midst of what I thought would be an instrumental album, but somehow it just adds to the "story" of Truth of Touch.

Kicking off in Peoria, IL, on March 22, Yanni launched a 40-date tour of the US. The tour will take him through theaters in major cities across the US including Radio City Music Hall in NYC and the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.  Many of these venues are already sold out.

Pretty Woman Perfume - Review and Giveaway!

Like the notes of a song, the notes of Pretty Woman Perfume open to reveal a complex melody of florals, spices, and woods.  Its crisp, luminous bergamot top note evolves to reveal a full, vivacious middle note accord of stargazer lily, red rose, and carnation.  The fragrances's base note accord of fresh amber, patchouli, vanilla, atlas cedar, and sacred incense combine with a lingering everlasting warmth and harmony.

This fragrance was lovingly created by Barbara Orbison, and she has been involved in every step of the development from conception to launch.  She worked closely with perfumers to formulate the exact scent that she desired.  She had carefully honed this scent after having already spent years creating and wearing her own unique blend.  Barbara has said "It has been a life-long dream of mine to create a perfume that speaks to women everywhere," and "I believe that within every woman there is a Pretty Woman and my signature fragrance helps bring out that inner confidence and spirit so they feel strong, empowered, sensual and pretty."  I know I feel all of those things when I am wearing a fragrance that speaks to me.

I recieved for review a beautiful Pretty Woman Perfume scented candle in black.  I instantly loved the sleek design and the unusual black color of the candle.  The candles, of course, mimic the scent of the perfume.  I noticed the patchouli more than any other fragrance, and if you like a strongly scented candle then this will not dissapoint.  As unique as their fragrance, these 7 ounce Pretty Woman Candles are made from an original blend of high quality soy based waxes and a lead free wick with a remarkable 40 hour burn time.

I also recieved an adorable Pretty Woman t-shirt.  This is such a soft and comfortable t-shirt.  It's classic, fitted, feminine, and looks great with a pair of jeans.  I love that hearing or seeing the words Pretty Woman immediately have me singing the lovely Roy Orbison song and thinking of my favorite scenes from the movie of the same name, and now I can also relate the name to this fragrance

I received a bottle of Pretty woman perfume and a Pretty Woman Fragrance candle in black by Barbara Orbison and I have to say the aromas are magnificent !!!!

I am usually not a perfume wearer but this is a very nice scent.  It almost has a bouquet aroma which I find to be very soothing to the senses :)

The candle is a soy based, rich with an exotic blend of bergamot and floral notes with amber vanilla and patchouli.  I LOVE this candle.  It fills the whole room with a very inviting scent !!!

These would make lovely mothers day gifts :)  ::Hint Hint::

Pretty Woman Perfume is offering a giveaway of one 30ml bottle of their perfume as well as a full size candle!

This giveaway is open to the US.
