EdenFantasys Highlight 2/25

Sex toys - EdenFantasys adult toys store

How do you relax and unwind after a long day?  I love taking advantage of the big jaccuzzi tub in our new master bathroom.  I light a few candles, run a hot bubble bath, grab a good book....and I could soak for hours if only the water would stay hot for that long.

Last night, was just one of those nights where a nice long soak in the tub was needed.  It was overdue, actually.  Yesterday wasn't so much of a bad day or anything, it's just been a long couple of weeks for me and I had been wanting to spend a little quality time a good book in the tub.  So after the kiddos went to bed, and I spent a little time with the husband, I retreated to the bathroom.

I used a couple products that you can actually find at EdenFantasys!  They have an amazing selection of bath and body products (not just sex toys like so many think!).  I lit a Romantic Candle, in a yummy French Vanilla scent.  I wanted the lights dim, but to still be able to see enough to read so I lit a few Glade candles as well.

I added a little bubble bath to the water...I had some on hand already that EdenFantasys does not carry, but I have been wanting to try the Cake brand's Milk Maid, and Kama Sutras body wash and shower gel looks really nice as well.

The Secret World of Arrietty, in Theaters TODAY!

Cast Members: Amy Poehler, Bridgit Mendler and Carol Burnett in Los Angeles to promote the film.

The Secret World of Arrietty is in theaters today (Friday, the 17th), I'm SO excited to see this movie!  I lovvvved the book "The Borrowers" when I was younger.

If you're planning to go see the movie soon, don't forget that you can print and enjoy these coloring pages!

Residing quietly beneath the floorboards are little people who live undetected in a secret world to be discovered, where the smallest may stand tallest of all. From the legendary Studio Ghibli (“Spirited Away,” “Ponyo”) comes “The Secret World of Arrietty,” an animated adventure based on Mary Norton’s acclaimed children’s book series “The Borrowers.”

Arrietty (voice of Bridgit Mendler), a tiny, but tenacious 14-year-old, lives with her parents (voices of Will Arnett and Amy Poehler) in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper (voice of Carol Burnett). Like all little people, Arrietty (AIR-ee-ett-ee) remains hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to “borrow” scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. But when 12-year-old Shawn (voice of David Henrie), a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty’s family from the home and straight into danger. The English language version of “The Secret World of Arrietty” was executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, and directed by Gary Rydstrom. The film hits theaters Feb. 17, 2012.

Notes:

  • Hayao Miyazaki is one of the most influential and admired filmmakers working in animation today and is a major figure in the Japanese cinematic landscape. His films have inspired moviegoers and colleagues around the world, from Pixar's John Lasseter to fantasist Guillermo del Toro to Chinese director Tsui Hark, and consistently top the box office in his native Japan.
  • Director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, a top animator at Studio Ghibli, was responsible for the animation in a signature scene in “Ponyo,” in which Ponyo runs atop ocean waves.
  • English language voice talent director Gary Rydstrom is a seven-time Academy AwardÒ winning sound designer/mixer (“Terminator 2: Judgment Day”). He joined Pixar Animation Studios as an animation film director in 2003. His directorial debut for the studio was the Academy Award®-nominated short film “Lifted,” and he directed the short film “Hawaiian Vacation,” which was released with “Cars 2” in June 2011.
  • Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are highly successful producing partners whose films, separately and together, include “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “E.T.,” “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?,” the Indiana Jones films and the Jurassic Park films. In total, Kennedy and Marshall have earned 11 Oscar® nominations.
  • English language screenplay writer Karey Kirkpatrick’s credits include “Spiderwick Chronicles” and “Over the Hedge,” which he also directed (with Tim Johnson).

Have You Heard of Clipix?

I just heard about a new online organizing tool, called clipix.  It's free, and pretty neat!  It's a way save and organize all the different things you see and use online every day, things that you want to come back to.  Plus, you can completely customize your privacy settings, so you can put anything you want in Clipix, and only share it with who you WANT to see it and who you grant access to see your clipboards.

So, you sign up at Clipix.com.  It's super easy, especially if you have a Facebook or Twitter.   I signed up through Facebook and it took less than a minute.   Then you can   drag a little bookmark that's called the Clip Button to your bookmark bar.  Then you can just click it whenever you find anything online that you want to come back to.  It will be clipped and stored with Clipix and you can organize it any way you like.  You can have some for Vacation Ideas, Recipes, Gift Ideas, Wish Lists, anything!  A little box pops up once you click to clip, and lets you select which board to place the page in.  Then you are also able to make Syncboars, that let your friends and family clip to the same board and everyone you invite to is able to see what you clipped to that board.

We're planning to take a family vacation this year to sunny Florida, so I just made a board for things to do and ideas on how to save money while we're on our vacation.  I can now share this with my mom and grandmother who are also going to be going on vacation with us.  Neat!

I think I'm going  to start a board with Easter Basket ideas next.  You should definitely sign up!   What do you think you would make a board for?

Come On, Summer!

All of this crazy weather has me wishing for Summer!  It will be freezing, and then beautiful for a few days, and then freezing and snowing.  As I'm sure you all know, we recently purchased a new home, and I am itching to get things done in the garage and in the front and back yards.

I'm not sure that it will be this Summer, but eventually I'd like to put a nice big pool in our back yard.  I have such fond memories of swimming the Summer away as a child, and my girls have so much fun whenenver we're able to go swimming.  There is just such joy in splashing around in a nice cool pool on a hot day.  It would be so nice and convenient to have our own pool here at home.  It's a little intimidating though, I don't really know much about having a pool of my own, other than it will need quite a bit of upkeep and maintenence.

A quick internet search tells me where I can get some decently priced pool supplies, and pool accessories.  Lots of information on how to care for a pool as well.  So, who here has a pool in their backyard?  Any tips?  Advice?  Suggestions on what to go for?  I want this to be our dream back yard!  We are limited on space, but our back yard is plenty big enough for a nice sized pool.

Earn Cash and Prizes, Seriously!

As I'm sure you all know, I *love* taking surveys and earning rewards.  It's not really a great way to make a living, but it is a great way to supplement and earn some fun things in your spare time.  I earn gift cards to treat my family to a nice dinner out every now and then, or I'm able to select prizes or gift cards I can use towards making the holidays special.  It really helps at Christmas!  I even earn checks that I can put into savings as well.

MyView is a global community of expert individuals who express their open, honest, and valid opinions on a wide range of topics.
By experts, they mean folks just like you who are knowledgeable or passionate about almost any topic. Gaming. Business. Family. Movies. TV. Books. Technology. You name it.
It's pretty simple. You tell them what you think about stuff like:
  • Never-before-seen movie trailers
  • New tools and solutions for IT Professionals
  • Cutting edge tools and solutions for IT pros
  • The latest fashion trends
  • New video games
  • Health topics
  • Business issues, large and small
  • And much, much more
In return, you earn valuable rewards that you can spend all over the web.  Sounds good to me!

You might also like to check out the Join Nielsen Home Scan Consumer Panel - Earn valuable points, which are redeemable for electronics, household items, jewelry, toy, gift cards, and more. If they are accepting panelists in your area, you'll receive a price gun that you scan your groceries and coupons to earn points. This is a fun activity for kids to do while you're putting groceries away and the longer you're a panelist, the better the prizes get.

I get asked all the time what survey companies I use, so here are a couple that I work with:

I also recommend YouData, where you get paid to view ads.  They PayPal you payment every week!
And don't forget about Swagbucks!  Not only can you earn points for searching with them, but also for watching videos and completing surveys as well.
Are there any that you have had good results with?  I'd love to hear about them!

The Secret World of Arrietty

”The Secret World of Arrietty” is based on the book “The Borrowers” by Mary Norton. Arrietty (voice of Bridgit Mendler) is a tiny 14 year old girl who lives with her parents (voices of Will Arnett and Amy Poehler) in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper (voice of Carol Burnett). Like all little people, Arrietty remains hidden from view, except during occasional ventures beyond the floorboards to “borrow” supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty’s family from the home and straight into danger.

When I was a child, I absolutely adored The Borrowers.  I read the book and over again.  I was very excited to learn that Disney/Studio Ghibli was going to release The Secret World of Arietty this year!  I can't WAIT to see it, and introduce my little girls to the world of The Borrowers.  My girls are only 4 and 5, but we do read some chapter books and I think I'll have to get them soon for story time.  I imagine that after seeing the movie, they might really enjoy the book.

THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY opens in theaters everywhere on February 17th!

In the meantime, feel free to print and enjoy these coloring pages!

Also, be sure to LIKE the movie page on Facebook!

Tiny Prints Business Cards

I've never ordered business cards before.  I've thought about it, for a couple of reasons.  The first reason is that it would be fun to leave business cards around randomly advertising this blog and inviting people to come enter some giveaways!  Another reason, would be that it would be so easy to just hand over when I'm talking to someone and mention being a blogger and they want the blog address, or just a friend who would like my email address.  No need to search for a pen and paper.  Yet another reason I've thought about getting business cards?  As "Mommy Cards."  For my daughters' friends/parents.  Just a simple, cute card with our names, phone number, emails, and address.  How nice would a stack of cards like that be to keep in your purse?

Am I just crazy, or would anyone else use a business card for that sort of purpose?

I was browsing Tiny Prints earlier this morning and found quite a few really cute cards, that would work well for any of the reasons I'd want a business card, not really having a business myself.  :o)

Check these out!

So many cute options!  Plus, they have cards that you can design yourself and upload your own photo or logo to!

*I will receive one or more of the products mentioned above for writing this post through the above mentioned company or representing PR agency. In the event of a giveaway, the prize is shipped by the sponsor and I hold no responsibility. Thank you for reading!

VitaCost Rewards

Recently, I signed up for VitaCost.com through a friend's referral link.  For signing up that way, I got a $10 coupon code emailed to me instantly, and once I made a purchase, they were able to get a $10 coupon code as well.  Win-win!  There are no fees for signing up, in case you were curious.  They don't ask for any payment information unless you are actually making a purchase.

For awhile now I've wanted to try Mrs. Meyers cleaning products.  I have always been big on things smelling good, and the scents on these products sounded amazing.  So I bought some Lemon Verbena and some Lavender counter top sprays, and a Lemon Verbena hand soap.  I paid about .26 after my $10 coupon code, and then the $4.99 flat shipping for orders under (I think $45, might be $50, then you get free shipping).  That made each product about $1.75!  A very good price for Mrs. Meyers, compared to what I've seen in stores. Long story short, I fell in LOVE with these products.  They make me want to clean, so that alone is worth the price!

As a bonus, one of my sprays even had a $1 off coupon attached!  Made my day!
Plus, you can pick two free samples to add to each order, I got some organic lemon tea, and some incense sticks.  The samples change all the time, so you never know what you might find.

If you want to sign up, just click here, or any of the photos in this post!

I'd love to hear what you think of VitaCost if you've ordered from them before.  Also, tell me your favorite Mrs. Meyers products/scents!
