Nelsons' Pure & Clear

Whatever your age, you deserve to be blemish free.

Nelsons is the UK’s largest manufacturer of natural health care products.  In 1995, they expanded to the US.  Nelsons’ Pure & Clear is a natural skin care system that helps people of all ages experience clean, pure and blemish-free skin. All of the Pure & Clear products are natural and available across the US at Whole Foods Markets and other retailers.

I have struggled with acne for over ten years.  I've discovered some products that work really well for me, and many others that do not.  I'm always willing to try something new because you never know, it just might be *the* product that works miracles on my skin.  I received for review the Nelsons' Pure & Clear Four Step System to clear skin.  As soon as I opened the package I knew I would enjoy using these products.  They smell strongly of Tea Tree Oil, which is something I have used in the past for various reasons and I love the smell.  It's just so clean.

Step 1, is to cleanse.  The Purifying Cleansing Wash helps clear blocked pores.

Active Ingredients:  Arnica Montana tincture, Calendula officinalis tincture, Hypericum perforatum tincture

Inactive Ingredients: Water, Polysorbate 20, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate (vegetable source), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (coconut source), Carrageenan Seaweed) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl alcohol, Xantum gum, Tea tree oil, Lavender oil, Limonene (essential oil source), Grapefruit oil, Linalool (essential oil source), Petigrain Oil.

As you can see, there are no harsh chemicals, and it is so good for your skin.  When I use this, my skin feels so refreshed and best of all, it did not dry my skin out.

Step 2, Tone.  Use the Balancing Toner to help clarify skin tone by minimizing your pores, and to reduce excess oil.  Simply apply to a cotton ball and swipe across the skin on your face and neck.  I'm really, really bad at remembering to use toners, but I'm always amazed at the results when I do.  My skin feels tighter, more even, and with the tea tree oil in this, it's refreshing.

Active Ingredients:  Arnica Montana tincture, Calendula officinalis tincture, Hypericum perforatum tincture
Inactive Ingredients: Water, Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, Witch Hazel Leaf Extract, Aloe Vera Extract, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, Limonene (essential oil source), Grapefruit Oil, Linalool (essential oil source), Petigrain oil.

Step 3, Moisturize.  This is such an important step.  As a teen, I avoided putting any sort of moisturizer on my face for fear or it breaking me out even more...but I've learned that using a moisturizer keeps my skin happy and it does not at all contribute to my break outs as long as I use something designed for facial use.  I have a few favorites, but I really love the Nelsons' Pure & Clear Nourishing Moisturizer lately.  I love how clean it smells and, dare I say it again, it's just refreshing!  I love the ingredients in these products.   The grapefruit peel oil is to alleviate oily skin and lavender oil helps heal skin irritations.  Awesome, right?

Active Ingredients:  Arnica Montana tincture, Calendula Officinalis Tincture, Hypericum Perforatum Tincture
Inactive Ingredients: Water, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Sucrose Stearate, Sucrose Distearate, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Shea Butter, Cetyl Palmitate, Alcohol Denat, Xanthan Gum, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Lavender Oil, Grapefruit Peel Oil, Limonene (essential oil source), Linalool (essential oil source), Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Petigrain Oil.

Step 4, is to Treat.  I was sent the Acne Treatment Gel.  I have used several other brands of spot treatment gels, and by far this has been the most gentle.  I will admit that it is not quite as effective for me as others, but I love that it doesn't irritate my skin.  It contains sulfur to help with redness and inflammation too.

Active Ingredients: Arnica montana extract, Calendula extract, Hypericum extract
Inactive Ingredients: Water, Alcohol, Tea tree oil,  Trolamine, Carbomer, Limonene (tea tree oil source), Linalool (tea tree oil source)

I'd be interested in trying the Acne Treatment Tablets too.

I also love that none of the Nelsons' Pure & Clear products have been tested on animals, and they do not use any endangered plant species.  It's nice to know they care not only about their consumers, but about the planet as a whole.
