Give the Gift of Hope

The United Nations recently declared the first famine of the 21st century in the Horn of Africa.  World Vision is commited to helping those in need, and working with children, families, and their communities worldwide, to help make the future brighter.
With the holidays coming up, you might consider shopping from World Vision's gift catalog for items that will directly help those impacted by this devastating famine. The three gifts below represent or come directly from Kenya, Ethiopia and Nairobi, but most importantly the proceeds of these gifts help children and families in need.

A selection of wonderful gifts can be viewed at  These gifts will help those in East Africa, and are also unique, meaningful items for the recipients.  As well, items that provide food such as goats, sheep and chickens can be purchased in the name of a loved one.  At $75, goats are the most popular because they nourish families with healthy milk, cheese and yogurt.

I was given the pleasure of seeing a few of these items myself and I can tell you that you will recieve quality items for your donation.  I think that you can find the perfect item for anyone on your gift list here, and and what is better than giving a gift that helps others?

For just $50 you will recieve a bag of delicious coffee beans, as well as a beautiful hand carved wooden scoop, wrapped neatly in a lovely, reusable, hand made bag.  No wrapping paper needed to give this wonderful gift that will benefit so many.

For a donation of $150, you can choose to recieve a set of wire and bead ornaments from Nairobi.  These are made from recycled materials, by a group of Kenyan artisans who are working to free themselves from poverty.  These ornaments are lovely hanging in a window, or a holiday tree as the season approaches.  Knowing that these were hand crafted with the hopes of a better tomorrow is so humbling.

I encourage you to check out World Vision's gift catalog yourself, and see what a difference you can make.

*I received one or more of the products mentioned above for the purposes of this review through the above mentioned company or representing PR agency. In the event of a giveaway, the prize is shipped by the sponsor and I hold no responsibility. Thank you for reading!
